Winds were 10-15 knots with higher gusts from the Northwest. Four boats started the race (Course 2) at the southeast mark on Herring Island. ReJoyce called the start and starting line (between the mark and the ”green bush”). Finnesse jumped out to an early lead, but was overtaken by Flyer, ReJoyce, and La Cinquieme at the ”J” mark. Flyer maintained her lead, and took the ”inside” tack beyond ”H” to avoid the incoming tide. The others tacked out toward Kent Narrows, crossing one another on the way to the ”R” mark off Tilghman point. On the downwind leg, ReJoyce was in second, but missed the starboard side rounding of ”H” (and self-declared a DSQ). Over-the-line finishers were Flyer, La Cinquieme, and Finnesse. The final corrected times were in the same order.
